Day 1- ARRIVAL

Welcome at the airport by your English-speaking driver and guide, holding a sign with your name.

Transfer directly to your hotel and enjoy some time to rest after your journey.

OVERNIGHT IN MEDAN

Day 2 - MEDAN – JUNGLE & RIVER ADVENTURE

After breakfast, leave the city and travel towards the jungle.

Along the way, enjoy the views of plantations and local villages, with a stop to discover traditional bamboo crafts and local houses.

On arrival, cross the river by a traditional local raft or bridge. You will then explore the beautiful natural surroundings on foot before floating down the river on inner tubes through the jungle to reach a spectacular waterfall.

Enjoy a swim and a refreshing shower under the waterfall, followed by a freshly prepared lunch by the river. In the afternoon, walk through the rainforest to reach natural hot springs. You can swim in the river or relax in the warm water.

Continue to another waterfall and a beautiful panoramic viewpoint.

OVERNIGHT IN A JUNGLE LODGE

Day 3 - JUNGLE – ELEPHANTS – BUKIT LAWANG

In the morning, visit an elephant camp and watch the elephants bathing in the river. You may also have the possibility to join the mahouts and help wash the elephants.

The elephant activity is optional and can be arranged and paid locally or in advance.

Then travel by 4x4 towards the next jungle destination, passing plantations, mountains and rivers. You may also see long-tailed macaques along the way.

OVERNIGHT IN BUKIT LAWANG

Day 4 - JUNGLE TREKKING & ORANGUTANS

Your guide will meet you at the hotel.

Walk along the river before starting the climb through rubber plantations towards the entrance of the national park. Once inside the jungle, you will have a good chance of seeing wild orangutans. Take your time to observe them moving through the trees and caring for their young. Continue your trek through the rainforest and stop to enjoy some delicious tropical fruits.

After another hour of walking, enjoy beautiful views over the river valley and the surrounding jungle.

Lunch will be served in the jungle. In the afternoon, continue exploring the rainforest and look for other wildlife such as macaques, leaf monkeys and monitor lizards. Around 4:00 pm, arrive at your jungle campsite near a waterfall or river.

Relax with a tea or coffee while your guides prepare the camp and dinner. Enjoy a delicious local meal together around the campfire. Then relax, chat with your guides or play cards before falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle.

OVERNIGHT IN A TENT IN THE JUNGLE

Day 5 - BUKIT LAWANG – HIGHLANDS

After breakfast, explore the local village by traditional three-wheeled pedicab. Then continue towards the cooler highlands, passing through Medan and several mountain areas.

The region is famous for its cooler climate, flowers, vegetables and tropical fruits, especially passion fruit. Visit a traditional fruit market and enjoy beautiful views of two impressive volcanoes from the nearby hills. You will also visit a unique local church known for its traditional Batak-inspired architecture and mountain views.

OVERNIGHT IN BERASTAGI

Day 6 - HIGHLANDS – LAKE TOBA – ISLAND

In the morning, continue towards the shores of the great volcanic lake. Enjoy lunch on the way before reaching the lakeside town, where you will board a local ferry for approximately one hour to reach the island.

After arrival, transfer by car to your hotel. You will visit several traditional cultural sites, including an ancient meeting place of local kings and historic royal tombs. 

Continue to another village where you can discover the famous traditional Tortor dance.

OVERNIGHT ON THE ISLAND

Day 7 - ISLAND – MEDAN

After breakfast, return to Medan by road, passing through several towns and countryside areas.

In the afternoon, explore the city with your guide and visit some of its most interesting historical and cultural sites, including the former royal palace, a large mosque and a Chinese temple.

You will also discover the remains of old Dutch and Chinese buildings.

Arrival in Medan after approximately 4 hours of travel.

OVERNIGHT IN MEDAN

Day 8 - MEDAN – DENPASAR

Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Denpasar.

On arrival, your driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.
